Placing the US flag on a sphere represents evolution as a transformation process from death to birth, ending and beginning, as a circle has no beginning and no end, representing eternity.
The choice of using collage as a metaphor, intertwining cut-out pieces blending tactile sensations, narrate the visual story of our flag and the diversity of our culture. Adding a variety of dimensions to the texture changes how the spectator interacts with each cut-out piece, inviting them to contemplate where they come from…allowing curiosity to come full circle towards our nation's evolution.
