Kahn stated that one of his favorite artistic mediums was the monotype because the combination of techniques showcased both his drawing and painting skills. This technique involves drawing with ink crayons over ink washes applied to zinc plates. This results in a contrast between the transparency of the soft washes with the density of thick, dark inks.
