Collection: Richard Snyder

Richard Snyder (b.1951-) is an American abstract expressionist painter from New York City, primarily known for his large-scale works in oil on canvas. His large canvases, dark in nature, are adorned with unmistakable irregularly vibrant color movements, rendered through loose and gestural brushstrokes.

Snyder, received his BFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art. He has exhibited his works in a number of galleries throughout New York and Pennsylvania, most notably, the 161st Annual Exhibition at the National Academy of design, Michael Fletcher Gallery, Artzon Gallery, and 10 Worlds Gallery. He has also had solo exhibitions at the Leonarda Di Mauro Gallery, Maryland Gallery, Thompkins College Center Gallery, including four such shows at 55 Mercer Street Gallery between 1988 and 1997.
