Fernanda Lavera (b. 1975 - )
To Have to See, 2016
Oil & Acrylic on Canvas
74 x 97 inches
Lavera paints about what she sees in her native Buenos Aires, where she resides and has her atelier.
Her paintings are social commentaries about the society in which she lives. In the painting, we can see the Artist's alter ego, a girl named Doris. Somebody is robbing Dorris with a gun pointed at her in the middle of the city. Yet, no one sees her, no one notices her.
